September 14, 2019 – Probus Picnic

Today PROBUS hosted 220 Group-home. Residents for our annual event, this year at the JCC in Bloomfield.  Thanks to our 16 PROBUS VOLUNTEERS  it was surely one of our very best.



July 13, 2019 – Dave Clark Annual D3 Disability Dream and Do Baseball Clinic at Dunkin Donuts Stadium

Probus Club Volunteers from all three CT chapters assisted Hartford Yard Goats players at Dave Clark Annual D3 Disability Dream and Do Baseball Clinic at Dunkin Donuts Stadium. This was an exciting day on the field for Connecticut youngsters with special needs.



2019 Memorial Day Parade Balloon Sale

Pictures tell the story, as PROBUS club members, family friends and volunteers prepare balloons for sale along the parade route. All funds raised will support programs for individuals with disabilities and students with special needs.



Greater Hartford Probus Club arranged and hosted two very successful outings January 19th and February 23rd, inviting group home residents from Windsor, Hartford, Newington  and New Britain to Varsity Basketball games at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). More than 55 individuals with disabilities enjoyed these exciting college events.  thanks to the generosity of the CCSU administration and athletic department.

On April 3rd a delegation of Hartford Probus members visited and toured New Horizons Village in Unionville. They are a residential Community for individuals with disabilities providing housing and services to promote independent living  and enhanced cultural opportunities. Probus learned that their mission statement and goals are similar to ours in many respects. We plan to explore ways in which to interact and support our respective activities.

2016 Barbeque/Picnic @ Northwest Park, Windsor, CT

This event was enjoyed by over 235 individuals with special needs or developmental disabilities from Greater Hartford group homes and the American School for the Deaf. Howie the Hartford Hawk mascot was there to entertain guests, and led many in Rock and Roll dancing.
